When running criminal reports, it is essential that the Emerge Review process and procedures are understood, to ensure maximum accuracy on all reports you generate.
There are many times when reports need to be reviewed and amended for accuracy, due to some sources reporting partial or incomplete records.
There are two ways that you will obtain an Emerge Review on your report. In this topic, we will discuss Automatic Emerge Review.
When you generate a criminal report, it will sometimes go to an Automatic Emerge Review. This functionality is in place if something triggers the system to detect an Emerge Review will be required, including but not limited to: ten or more "possible matches," records being filtered out due to 7-year reporting limitations in certain states, and keywords for very severe charges such as crimes against children, sex crimes, and murder. If your report goes to an Emerge Review automatically, you will typically receive results within one to two hours. If you have questions on a report that has gone to an automatic review, or it is time sensitive, please call our support department.
