The following are list of rules that should be followed when submitting a background check:
1. Fill out the highlighted fields only. If the field is not highlighted in yellow, do not fill it in. The only exception to this rule is if the applicant's name is extremely common (i.e. John Smith, Jane Johnson, Juan Garcia, etc.) - in these cases, you may include the Middle Initial with your order.
2. If someone has two last names, it should be entered into the last name field with a space in between the two names:
Correct: Smith Johnson
Incorrect: SmithJohnson
3. Double-check and triple-check for errors and accuracy! Once you click the red "Search" button, it will submit what you have typed in. You cannot cancel the search, edit it, or go back and change any mistakes. If you have submitted the report with any inaccuracies, you will have to re-submit the search and pay for it a second time. If you are unsure of any information that you need to enter, please clarify first with our support department and/or the applicant. For example, if even one number in the SSN is wrong, or one letter in the name is wrong, the search will be invalid.
4. Your US Criminal Rapid Search (nationwide criminal report) should never be submitted without a People Search. In the event there are any exact or possible matches found (DOB variations), it is not possible to determine if the records do in fact match your applicant without a People Search (Social Security Trace) to go along with it. Additionally, your People Search is the only accurate way to verify the identity of your applicant, and make sure they are who they say they are, and their personal information is accurate. In the event someone has changed their name or gone by an alias, or resided in locations they are not disclosing to you, without the completed People Search you would never know. If you are not already including a People Search by running a package or selecting it individually, please contact Support so we can provide you with additional details, pricing, and documentation.
